Welcome to Newcastle Only

Newcastle-upon-tyne is a large, vibrant city located in the north-east corner of England. The city and its inhabitants ("Geordies") are fiercely independant and proud of their city which in recent years has seen a great reversal of fortune. The home of two Universities, a well maintained metro system and a well loved Premier League football team, the city also has a wide range of shopping options, cafes, bars and restaurants. The quayside market on a Sunday morning is legendary fare for anyone looking for bargains!

Newcastle is situated in one of the most picturesque regions of the country. WIth the North Sea and Whitley bay only a couple of miles away to th East and the Pennines (an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) a short cycle trip the other way it is hardly surprising that many of those who visit the city hastily make plans to settle there. The night life in Newcastle is legendary and rivals anywhere else in the world. Buzzing with energy, places like the Quayside and the Bigg market spring to life after dark and youll be welcome everywhere you go. A cheap pizza, a bottle or brown or two followed by a boogie on the boat with the revolving dancefloor (the Tuxedo Royale) is a great night out.

Newcastle is also a significant city of arts - playing host to numerous shows and plays at the Theatre Royal, an art gallery (The Laing) and of course the more recently established Baltic. The millenium bridge is also worth a look.
